About the directory™

Who we are and why a human-reviewed translator directory matters.

What is the directory™?

the directory™ (direktoripenerjemah.com) is a human-reviewed directory of Indonesian translators. Every entry — translation agencies, sworn translators, interpreters, proofreaders and interpreting-equipment rental and sales providers — is added and maintained by editors who follow clear guidelines and policies. The result is a more accurate, higher-quality selection than any automatically generated list.

Our purpose

We want to highlight the signals of trust we find in every translation business we review, so potential clients can see that a business is reputable and worth trusting.

Background

Search engines tend to over-rely on inbound links as the main signal of trust. As a result, many translation agencies with decades of experience, a physical office, officially sworn translators and hundreds of happy clients are still hard to find online.

Things like company history, portfolio, testimonials, accreditations, certifications or sworn-translator status from the Ministry of Law cannot be measured automatically by an algorithm. It takes a manual review to really get to know a business — and that is exactly what we do.

Benefits of being listed

  • Organic traffic — Your listing is linked from our homepage and category pages, bringing visitors who are actively looking for a translator.
  • Trust signals — Our editor's review notes summarise the signs of trust we found in your business.
  • Member badge — Premium and Pro members receive a special badge and a place at the top of the homepage.
  • Two languages — The site is available in Indonesian and English, reaching both local and international clients.

What we check

When reviewing a listing we look at, among other things:

  • A complete, verifiable office address and contact details
  • Sworn-translator status (Ministry of Law decree) when claimed
  • Portfolio, case studies or client list
  • Authentic customer testimonials
  • Accreditations, association memberships (e.g. HPI) and certifications
  • Clear terms and conditions of service
  • Year established and the team's experience
  • Social media presence and a regularly updated blog or news section

One last thing: be honest. Clients appreciate businesses that are open about their experience and the way they work.
